Narrative:

On 8/29/2025, Thousand Oaks Patrol Deputies responded to a call for service at a residence in the 2000 block of Dewdrop Place in the City of Thousand Oaks, in reference to a residential burglary that occurred on 8/28/2025. Deputies on scene determined that unknown suspects forcibly entered the victim’s residence and stole property.
 
Detectives began investigating the burglary and, through covert surveillance and law enforcement investigative tools, determined that (S) Tomas Cristian Araya Olivares was one of the suspects responsible for the burglary.
 
On 11/3/2025, detectives from the East County Investigations Bureau responded to the City of Los Angeles and located Araya Olivares. Araya Olivares initially fled from detectives but was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. Araya Olivares was taken into custody and booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for Penal Code Section 459(a) – Residential Burglary.  Araya Olivares’ bail was set at $50,000 and is scheduled to appear at the Ventura County Superior Court on 11/19/2025 at 1:30 PM.
