Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau investigators responded to and are continuing their investigation into a double murder and attempted murder investigation at the 12700 block of Royston Street in the city of Baldwin Park.

On November 17, 2025, at approximately 4:58 am, officers from the Baldwin Park Police Department responded to a residence located on the 12700 block of Royston Street regarding a suspicious person, possible dead person call at the location. Upon arrival, officers were contacted by three surviving victims in front of the location who informed them an assault took place inside their residence and people had been shot. Officers made an immediate entry into the location and located three additional victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began rendering aid to the victims.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to treat the victims and assist officers.  Tragically, the two adult victims were pronounced deceased on scene inside the location. The three victims contacted in front of the location are described as two male adults and one male juvenile and they were uninjured.

Homicide investigators identified Qihao Jin, a 35-year-old male Asian, as the suspect. Investigators learned Suspect Jin targeted the location of his estranged wife’s family. He entered the residence armed with a firearm and shot the victims. Suspect Jin fled the location westbound on Royston Street in a vehicle. Suspect Jin’s estranged wife was not at the location when this incident occurred.

Homicide investigators and detectives from the Baldwin Park Police Department worked tirelessly throughout the day and evening on the case. Late Monday night, Suspect Jin’s vehicle was identified and an alert to local agencies was distributed. As the investigation and search continued, officers from the Anaheim Police Department located Suspect Jin and his vehicle in the 100 block of Vermont Street in the city of Anaheim.
