Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a stabbing incident following an investigation.
On November 10, at approximately 4:16 p.m., members of the Special Operations Division responded to the 1300 block of Washington Street in reference to a stabbing incident. Upon arrival, officers located a 30-year-old male victim, who arrived to the hospital in stable condition. The case was assigned to Detective Michael Chambers of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Chambers identified 44-year-old Charles Ray as a suspect and obtained warrant for his arrest.
On November 19, police executed a search warrant in the 400 block of McCabe Avenue, and took Ray into custody without incident.
Ray has been charged with the following offenses:
- Assault (First Degree)
- Assault (Third Degree)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree)
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $41,500 cash-only bail.
