Shop local for Small Business Saturday, Nov. 29

To encourage local dining and shopping, the City will offer free parking for up to four hours in municipal Garage B (28 Second St.), Garage D (215 Hudson St.), and the Midtown Garage (371 Fourth St.) To redeem this offer, drivers will need to show the garage attendant a receipt for a $25 minimum purchase from any Hoboken shop or restaurant. The free parking offer will be available on weekends starting this Saturday, Nov. 29, through the end of the year.

The City is also offering free 30-minute parking along Washington Street on weekdays from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Small Business Saturday, Nov. 29, through New Years Eve, Dec. 31, no discount or promo code required.

To receive the free 30-minute parking, drivers must initiate their parking session through ParkMobile with a Washington Street zone, and the discount will automatically apply to the transaction.

Don't place waste out early

Property owners are reminded to place trash at the curb in a container with a tight-fitting lid at or after collection time which is 7:30 p.m. in residential areas and after 9 p.m. in the Limited Business Area. Placing trash out at the curb earlier than your property's designated collection time can result in fines. It is illegal to place your property's trash in public trash cans and could also result in a summons.

Additionally, Thursday night is paper and cardboard recycling in Hoboken. Cardboard must be flattened and secured for collection. No plastic bags, styrofoam, glass or plastics are allowed in recycling on Thursday. Plastic, glass, cartons, and metal are collected on Monday nights. Recycling should be empty, clean, and dry. Only plastics numbered 1, 2, and 5 are accepted on Mondays.
