Narrative:

On 05/16/2025, deputies from the Ojai Station were contacted to investigate a theft from a business located at the 400 Block of Bryant Circle in the City of Ojai. The owners of the business advised that a former employee, identified as (S) Suzzann Villegas, had made numerous unauthorized charges using company funds. The charges were over the course of several years with a loss of over $100,000 to the business.

Ojai detectives conducted a follow up to this investigation and authored a search warrant for the financial statements related to these purchases. Based on the evidence obtained by detectives, an arrest warrant was requested and obtained from the Ventura County Superior Court for Villegas for grand theft (embezzlement) and the unauthorized use of another’s personal information.

On 11/21/2025, Ojai detectives and patrol deputies from the Headquarters Station located and arrested Villegas at her residence in Port Hueneme, Ca. Villegas was transported and booked by Headquarters patrol at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura with bail set at $ 20,000.
