...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 9 PM CST WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...For the Dense Fog Advisory, visibility of one quarter mile
or less in areas of dense fog. For the Wind Advisory, west winds
25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, and
northeast Illinois.
* WHEN...For the Dense Fog Advisory, until 10 AM CST this morning.
For the Wind Advisory, from 3 AM to 9 PM CST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Low visibility in dense fog this morning could make
driving conditions hazardous.
Gusty winds on Wednesday will blow around unsecured objects,
including holiday decorations. Tree limbs could be blown down and a
few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving
difficult, especially for high profile vehicles on north to south
roads.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Sporadic localized gusts up to 55 to 60 mph
are possible during the day on Wednesday.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If driving in dense fog this morning, slow down, use your
headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
Secure lightweight outdoor objects, including holiday decorations
and furniture. Use plenty of extra caution when driving a high
profile vehicle on Wednesday.
