Residents seeking to drop off recycling, or other items, on those days, are asked to hold onto those items until the facility reopens at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, or place them for curbside collection on the appropriate night. Additionally, the facility will be open on Saturday, Nov. 29 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Find the collection schedule, and other recycling information here: https://www.hobokennj.gov/resources/recycling.
This closure will not affect regular daily public works operations that service the City.
Honor World Aids Day on Monday, Dec. 1
The City of Hoboken invites members of the community to honor World Aids Day with a rededication ceremony of the City's newly refurbished Aids Memorial on Monday, Dec. 1, at 3:30 p.m. at City Hall, 94 Washington St.
The memorial, originally created in 1995 by municipal employees, was constructed as a tribute to Hoboken residents who lost their lives to AIDS and AIDS-related complications. Over the last month, the City and the Arts Advisory Committee have worked to revitalize and preserve the memorial by adding new names submitted by community members, utilizing the City's Public Arts Trust.
Before the end of the year, the City will also create an online memorial page with information about each of the individuals represented on the memorial, which will now be relocated on the first floor of Hoboken City Hall.
To attend the ceremony, please enter City Hall via the Washington Street. An accessible entrance is located on Newark Street.
