Lieutenant David Jones with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 26-year-old Laken Faith Hensley of Marion with (2 counts) felony Assault with Physical Injury to a Law Enforcement Officer, misdemeanor Ethnic Intimidation and misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer. She was given a secured bond of $153,000.
On Wednesday, Nov. 19, deputies and detectives responded to a Marion residence regarding an assault. Upon arrival, it was reported by the victim that Hensley had physically assaulted her and a child in the home after coming home intoxicated. The victim had visible injuries consistent with assault.
When placing Hensley under arrest, she became combative, physically assaulting and injuring Lt. Jones.
An investigation by Detective Aaron Vallini led to Hensley being additionally charged with the following:
- Felony Assault by Strangulation
- Felony Second Degree Kidnapping
- Misdemeanor Assault on a Child Under 12
- Misdemeanor Child Abuse
- Misdemeanor Simple Assault
