Borough Council Meeting, Tuesday, 12/2 & 12/16
The Mayor and Council hold their regularly scheduled meetings pursuant to the provisions of the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-8(b). Meetings are held in person at Borough Hall, 221 South 5th Avenue, Highland Park, NJ at 7:00 pm. As a convenience, the Borough provides the public the option to attend meetings remotely through Zoom. The meeting agenda and support materials are posted in Borough Hall and on the Borough website at least 48 hours before the scheduled meeting. 

Holiday Show featuring the Tricky Trills Flute Ensemble, Wednesday, 12/3
Come out and enjoy a free holiday show featuring the Tricky Trills Flute Ensemble at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue beginning at 1:00 pm.
 
Coffee & Ink, Thursday, 12/4
Join the HP Art’s Commission for an art study on the interaction between coffee & ink on watercolor paper, led by artist Joe Galuppo from 6:30 – 8:00 pm  at the Highland Park Library, 31 North 5th Avenue.  This event is for ages 18 and up.
 
A Poetry Festival, Sunday, 12/7
The HP Art’s Commission is hosting a Poetry Festival from 4:00 – 9:00 pm at Pino’s Wine Cellar, 13 North 4th Avenue. 
 
Draw Yourself as a Superhero! Tuesday, 12/9
Join the HP Art’s Commission from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Environmental Education Center, 20 River Road for Draw Yourself as a Superhero!  Discover your inner strengths through graphic narrative! This event is for ages 12 and up. 
 
Cocoa, Coffee, & Card Making with a Cop, Wednesday, 12/10
Stop in and join the Highland Park Police Department for doughnuts, refreshments, holiday card making, and cookie decorating from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Ave.  For more information, please contact CPO Bryant Fitzgerald at 732-572-3800.
 
Owl Holiday Markets, Saturday, 12/13 and Sunday, 12/14
Make a dent in your holiday shopping list at one of Main Street’s Highland Park’s upcoming Night Owl Holiday Markets at the Welkovits Pavillion, 212 Raritan Avenue from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Saturday) and from 1:00 pm – 5:00pm (Sunday). The market features many locally-based artists, artisans and crafters that make and sell their own unique goods.
 
Menorah Lighting, Sunday, 12/14
Celebrate the festival of lights downtown on the first night of Hanukkah  at the Welkovitz Pavillion, 212 Raritan Avenue from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. Enjoy the music, vendors, and food (dreidels and gelts).
 
South 3rd Ave Plaza Community Meeting, Monday, 12/15
Please join the Mayor and Borough Council for a presentation of the final concept plan for the South Third Avenue Public Plaza on Monday, December 15 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in Borough Hall (221 So. 5th Avenue). Members of the public will have an opportunity to share ideas and comments following the presentation by the Arterial, the Borough's design consultant.
 
Holiday Performance with the EHS Dance Ensemble, Wednesday, 12/17
The Edison High School Dance Ensemble (EHS) performs annually at the Highland Park Community Center and every year it’s a treat! All are invited to attend this free show at the Highland Park Community Center beginning at 12:30 pm.  Registration is required, please call 732-819-0052.
 
Holiday Dinner, Thursday, 12/25
The Borough of Highland Park invites all Highland Park residents to a special complimentary Holiday Dinner! Join us for an afternoon filled with music, food, fun and holiday cheer at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.  For reservations, donation information, or volunteer opportunities, please contact 732-819-0052.

Ongoing Programs:
Free Groceries from H.P. Gives a Hoot, Tuesdays 12/2, 12/9, 12/16, 12/23 & 12/30 Wednesdays 12/3, 12/10, 12/17, 12/24 & 12/31 and Fridays 12/5, 12/12, 12/19 & 12/26
Highland Park Gives a Hoot offers free groceries to Highland Park families in need of support. Distributions are every Tuesday & Wednesday (except holidays) from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Zone 6 Teen Center, 600 Benner Street.
 
Food Pantry Distribution, Thursdays 12/11, Tuesday 12/23 and Saturdays 12/13 & 12/27
The Highland Park Food Pantry distribution takes place at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from 9 to 10:45 am and 6 to 7 pm and on the second and fourth Saturdays from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Highland Park Recreation Programs
Highland Park Recreation offers a variety of adult, youth and fall programs. Families that qualify for free and reduced lunch are eligible for a 60% discount on all programs offered by the Borough.
 
Friday Farmers Market
The Highland Park Farmers Market is, bringing fresh, local, homemade products from farmers and vendors across New Jersey. The market is open every Friday through December 12; from 11 to 4 pm in February, March, November, and December; and until 5 pm from April through October. Shop for farm-fresh produce, baked goods, artisanal products, and more while supporting local businesses and enjoying a vibrant community atmosphere.
