Narrative:

On 11/25/2025, at around 11:15 P.M., deputies from the Headquarters Patrol Station along with deputies from the Camarillo Police Department responded to a “shots fired” call for service in the 3600 Block of Orange Drive located within the unincorporated community of Oxnard known as Nyeland Acres.
When deputies arrived, they quickly located a crime scene and confirmed that a shooting had taken place. While on scene, deputies received information regarding a potential suspect vehicle that had fled the area after the shooting.  Deputies located the vehicle, which was occupied by five juveniles and one adult male subject, in the city of Camarillo.  Deputies located a loaded high-power rifle during a search of the occupants of the vehicle which is believed to have been used in the commission of the shooting.
Detectives from the Headquarters Patrol Station along with detectives from the West County Special Enforcement Unit responded to the scene of the shooting and assisted with the investigation.  Detectives determined that a party had taken place at the location and a juvenile subject fired numerous rounds from a rifle at a group of party goers before fleeing.  Detectives confirmed that no one was struck by the gunfire.
Detectives authored several search warrants as part the investigation and located additional evidence linking Martin Maidaa and a juvenile suspect to the shooting.  Maidaa along with four juvenile suspects were later arrested for a violation of 32 PC – Accessory after the fact.  Maidaa was subsequently booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility, and the four juveniles were cited and released to their parents. One juvenile was lodged at the Juvenile Justice Center for a violation of PC 245(a) – Assault with a deadly weapon, PC 246 – Shooting at an inhabited dwelling as well as several firearms charges.
Detectives are actively investigating this shooting and are asking for the public’s assistance for any information regarding the incident.  Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Detective Steve Bibian at (805) 677-8733 or Detective Evert Ponce at (805) 677-8772.
