...PROLONGED SNOWFALL EXPECTED TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT... .A winter storm is expected to move west to east across the Midwest tonight through Saturday night, bringing a prolonged period of light to moderate snowfall. Areas along and south of Interstate 90 have 70 to 95% probabilities for 6+ inches of snowfall with the highest amounts favored along and south of Highway 18 in northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin. Heaviest snowfall rates are expected Saturday afternoon over northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin, approaching 1 inch per hour at times. Snowfall tapers off west to east late Saturday night through Sunday morning.
