Winter Storm Warning until 12:00AM Sunday 
...LONG DURATION SNOW WITH IMPACTFUL ACCUMULATION LIKELY ACROSS SOUTHERN MINNESOTA INTO WESTERN WISCONSIN THIS EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING... .Snow will develop across the Dakotas this morning, reaching southwestern Minnesota late this afternoon into this evening, then continuing to press eastward through Saturday evening across all of southern MN into western WI. Several inches of accumulation, including over 6 inches of total accumulation near and south of a line from Redwood Falls to Le Sueur to Cannon Falls MN, will likely lead to travel impacts Friday night into Saturday night. The heaviest snow will fall around Interstate 90 corridor in southern Minnesota, with upwards of 10 inches of total accumulation through Saturday night possible. Lighter amounts are expected from west central Minnesota through the Twin Cities metro through Bloomer WI and points northward of that line. Overall, travelers should use extra caution and allow for extra travel time, including the possibility of moderate prolonged snowfall at times, which may lead to hazardous travel conditions.

If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is winterized and in good working order.
