* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations up to 1 inch and ice accumulations of a light glaze to one tenth of an inch.
* WHERE...Anchorage, Lower Matanuska Valley, NW Kenai Peninsula, SW Kenai Peninsula, Skilak Lake, and Southern Susitna Valley.
* WHEN...From 11 AM Saturday to 6 AM AKST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A mix of freezing rain and snow will begin from midday Saturday into Saturday afternoon, progressing from Anchorage and the western Kenai Peninsula into the Mat-Su Valleys through Saturday evening. Increasing east to northeast winds will slowly warm temperatures above freezing on Sunday, resulting in a transition to plain rain in most locations for any lingering precipitation. Some spots could hold on to light winds colder temperatures for longer, where localized periods of freezing rain could persist into much of Sunday.
