LOCATION: N. Waterman Ave. / E. Wabash St., in the City of San Bernardino
SUSPECT(S): Augustus Malcolm, 35-year-old, Resident of San Bernardino
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Monday, November 24, 2025, at approximately 11:16 p.m., Deputy A. Renteria from the Central Station conducted a traffic stop in the City of San Bernardino and contacted Malcolm Augustus. Augustus immediately exited his vehicle and approached law enforcement. During a safety sweep of the front seat for weapons, deputies located a loaded Glock .40 caliber firearm under the driver's seat. A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted, and Renteria located a small baggie containing suspected cocaine in the center console.
A record check revealed Augustus is a convicted felon. The firearm was reported stolen from the City of Los Angeles. Augustus was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center for PC 29800(a)(1) - Felon in possession of a firearm and H&S 11370.1(a) - Possession of controlled substance while armed.
