Hamilton Coast Guard Housing Search Ended
Due to overnight reports of shots heard in the Hamilton Coast Guard Housing, Novato Police Department with the help of the Marin Regional Crisis Response Unit and Coast Guard officials, searched the Hamilton Coast Guard Housing area. Teams of uniformed tactical officers, the NPD Canine Unit, Marin County Sheriff Drone team, and Sonoma County Sheriff helicopter helped to search the area. During the search, officers heard shots fired near the Hamilton Coast Guard Housing area. No one was seen with a firearm. There was no shooting by police or toward police or law enforcement resources. Several unsecured vacant buildings were searched.  Mindful of duck hunting season and nearby hunting areas, NPD also coordinated with California Fish & Wildlife wardens. No suspicious people were found during the search. The source of the heard gunshots was unknown.  Residents are encouraged to call 911 if they see or hear any suspicious activity.
