An arrest has been made in double homicide incident that occurred in the 1600 Block of NW 9th Ave.

Double Homicide – 1600 Block NW 9th Ave

Through the course of the investigation, the Amarillo Police Department Homicide Unit identified a suspect in connection with the double homicide that occurred early Sunday morning on NW 9th Avenue.

The Potter County District Attorney’s Office issued warrants for Tavon Lin Ammons, 17, for two counts of murder.

With assistance from the Amarillo Police SWAT Team and the PACE Unit, Ammons was located hiding inside a residence on the south side of Amarillo and was taken into custody without incident.

Ammons was transported to the Potter County Detention Center and booked on the listed charges.

On Sunday morning, November 30, 2025, Amarillo Police Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of NW 9th Avenue on reports of shots fired and subjects fighting. Upon arrival, officers located two male victims who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.

The victims have been identified as Chrisavion Deontay Green, 18-year-old male, and Andy Wayne Curtis Galloway, 42-year-old male. Both victims were pronounced deceased on scene. Next of kin has been notified. 

The Amarillo Police Department Homicide Unit is actively investigating this case.
