Snowy mix possible; Plan ahead for tomorrow’s runoff election; Monitor local forecasts
The City of Hoboken’s Office of Emergency Management is monitoring weather forecasts which currently indicate rain is likely, and snow is possible for the Hoboken and Hudson County area tomorrow, Dec. 2. As such, the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Public Works is prepared to salt and plow roads before, during, and after the storm, if needed.
Runoff Election Tomorrow
Registered voters are encouraged to plan ahead for tomorrow’s runoff election in which voters can vote again for Mayor and three at-Large City Council representatives.
Residents can cast their ballot in person at their polling place between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. or via a Vote-By-Mail ballot if they have received one.
Polling locations can be found at https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/polling-place-search.
Please note, if your polling location is the AJ Demarest school, voting will take place in trailers located on Garden Street between Fourth and Fifth Street.
The free Hop shuttle service will continue to operate typical routes, as road conditions allow, for voters who need assistance to get to their polling place. Track the Hop online by clicking here: Passio GO.

Keep Sidewalks & Curb Ramps Clear
The City’s Department of Parks, Recreation, & Public Works will salt roads and City and County plowing crews will remain on standby for plowing and shoveling operations if needed.
Should it snow, owners and occupants are reminded that they have six (6) hours after the completion of a storm to remove snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their property, along with adjoining curb ramps or curb cuts.
Residents are urged to use caution when shoveling and assist elderly or disabled neighbors with clearing snow from their properties. It is illegal to shovel snow back onto streets or onto fire hydrants.
The City performs proactive inspections and relies on citizen complaints to help identify property owners that are not meeting sidewalk safety requirements. While most property owners comply with the safety regulations, the City will issue fines to those who do not keep sidewalks clear.
To report an un-shoveled sidewalk, please email [email protected].
