Vassar Ave Traffic restrictions Wed 12/3/25 
Today after 4:30pm, the Stratford Police Department discovered that a Camden County Road Detour was posted on Somerdale directing all traffic, north and south on Somerdale Road to use Vassar Avenue as the approved detour route. The Stratford Police Department had not been consulted nor approved the detour of cross county traffic onto our municipal roadway. In response to this public safety concern, tomorrow Wednesday December 3, 2025 at 7:00am, the Stratford Police Department will be restricting traffic on Vassar Avenue, between Atlantic and Warwick to local and school traffic only.
Please be patient with the stationed police officers who will be regulating cross county traffic onward towards Laurel Road.
The Stratford Police will work as efficiently as possible to ensure the safety of our walkers, school busses, and other traffic arriving and departing from Yellin and JP-2 Schools.
Additionally, restricting traffic on Vassar Avenue is necessary to ensure emergency vehicles have a clear passage to all of our schools and residential areas.
