Special Weather Statement until 12:00AM Thursday
Light rain spreading across eastern NM this evening will turn over to snow from north to south as colder air filters into the area. Snowfall accumulations will be mainly confined to grassy and elevated surfaces where 1 to 2 inches is expected. Bridges and overpasses will become slick and icy before other roadways begin to develop slushy accumulations. Locally higher amounts up to 3 inches are possible across northeast NM from Clayton to Tucumcari overnight. Low visibility from snow and road spray will make travel even more difficult. Motorists are encouraged to slow down and allow extra time for travel tonight across eastern NM.
