Limited supplies available. Maximum 10 bags per household. Not for commercial use.
Additional information provided by the Washington State Emergency Management Division:
High astronomical tides colloquially called “King Tides” are expected to impact Western Washington’s waters over the next few days with some areas experiencing tides of up to 16 feet.
King Tides are a non-scientific term for exceptionally high tides that typically occur during a new or full moon. These tides can cause “sunny day” flooding, coastal erosion and dangerous coastal conditions when they interact with ocean surf.
Cascading impacts can include polluted waters and sewer system blockages or backups.
Visitors to the coast or the Puget Sound are advised to exercise caution near the shore.
For Washington-specific dates and times visit the Washington Sea Grant king tide calendar here: https://wsg.washington.edu/.../hazar.../king-tides/calendar/.
Instructions:
Protect coastal property, as necessary. Do not drive through flooded streets.
