Suspect Arrested for Assaulting Family and Later Attempts to Escape from Hospital



DATE/TIME: Monday, December 1, 2025 at approximately 5:02 p.m.

INCIDENT: PC 273A(A) - Child Abuse, PC 273.5(A) - Spousal Abuse, PC69 - Resist/Obstruct Police Officer and PC4532(A)(1) - Attempt Escape

LOCATION: 200 Block of Oak Circle, Needles, CA 

SUSPECT(S): CODY CLAGUE, 36-year-old Resident of Needles, CA

VICTIM(S): CONFIDENTIAL


SUMMARY: On Monday, December 1, 2025, at approximately 5:02 p.m., deputies assigned to the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the 200 block of Oak Street for an assault. 

When deputies arrived on scene, they met with the victims who had multiple injuries consistent with an assault.  During the investigation, the susepct, Cody Clague, refused to comply with deputies' commands and physically resisted arrest.  Deputies safely took him into custody however two deputies sustained minor injuries during the struggle.  Clague was determined to be heavily intoxicated and was also found to be a wanted sex registrant out of North Carolina.

While being transported, Clague continued to act violently, including striking his head against the vehicle's security partition and was taken to a local hospital for medical clearance prior to booking. While at the hospital, Clague fled from the emergency room but was immediately pursued and taken into custody.

Clague was booked into the High Desert Detention Center and the investigation is ongoing.
