On November 15 at 2:19 PM, El Cerrito Police Officers responded to several calls of a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle on San Pablo Ave. at Waldo Ave. Officers arrived within minutes and located a 66-year-old woman lying unresponsive in the roadway. The El Cerrito Fire Department and AMR provided life-saving care, and the woman was airlifted to a local trauma center. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Despite the hospitals best efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries and passed away on December 4, 2025. The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy and following their examination, we will present the case to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office for possible criminal charges.
