Alert

OFFICIAL NOTICE regarding this month's City of Tonkawa Utility Bill.

ATTENTION TONKAWA UTILITY CUSTOMERS
We wanted to provide some clarification regarding this month’s utility bills, as we have received many phone calls from customers who are understandably confused.
Last month, the City of Tonkawa experienced a crash in our Utility Billing software. While we were able to successfully recover the data, we are still in the process of implementing our new utility billing and financial records management system, which is expected to go live in 2026.
Because the crash occurred during the November billing cycle, your December bill may show doubled amounts in the “Previous” and “Amount Due” sections. Please rest assured that the actual amount you owe for December is listed under the section labeled “Charges,” unless you know you had a prior rollover balance.
We understand how confusing and frustrating this can be, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Implementing new processes—such as updated billing printouts, a new mailing system, and future software conversions—often comes with hiccups, and unexpected issues like last month’s system crash can make things even more challenging.
Thank you for your patience and continued support.
If you still have questions or need help understanding your bill, please don’t hesitate to contact the Utility Billing Office at (580) 628-2508. We’re here to help!
