Narrative:
The Camarillo Police Department is pleased to announce the graduation of Citizen’s Academy Class #45.  This class had twenty-three participants, who met weekly at the Camarillo Police Station to learn more about the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and several of our specialized teams. 
 
Attendees heard presentations from the Community Resources Unit, Station Detectives, Major Crimes, Internal Affairs, Human Trafficking Detectives, Tactical Teams, Narcotics Unit, Unmanned Aerial Systems Unit, SAR K9 Team, Disaster Assistance Response Team, Camarillo Citizens Patrol, and the Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services.  In addition, attendees took field trips to Todd Road Jail, Sheriff’s Communications Center, the Crime Lab, Ventura County Criminal Justice Training Center, and the Air Unit. 
 
Camarillo Police Department’s next Citizen’s Academy is set to start on February 3, 2026.  This Academy class will be held every Tuesday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm in the Camarillo Police Station Community Room except for field trip days.  We are committed to offering the community clear insight into the daily operations and services of the Camarillo Police Department and we look forward to hearing from you.
