SUSPECT 2: Sharla Krenelka, 37-year-old Resident of Joshua Tree

SUMMARY:
On Friday, December 5, 2025, while conducting proactive patrol in the area of Commercial Street and El Reposo Street in Joshua Tree, Deputy L. Gonzalez of the Morongo Basin Station conducted a traffic stop for multiple vehicle code violations.
During the stop, Deputy Gonzalez contacted the driver, identified as Jonathan Gera, and the passenger, identified as Sharla Krenelka. Gera consented to a search of his vehicle and Deputy Gonzalez located multiple individually packaged quantities of methamphetamine and marijuana, consistent with the possession for sales of illicit narcotics. Additionally, a large amount of U.S. currency and other packaging materials commonly associated with narcotics sales were discovered.
Gera and Krenelka were arrested for HS 11378 – Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail.
