🎄 HOLIDAY PARADE 🎄

Town of East Greenbush Annual Holiday Parade – Saturday, December 6th

The Town of East Greenbush Annual Holiday Parade will take place on Saturday, December 6th, and we want all residents and visitors to be aware of the planned road closures along the parade route.

This year’s parade will travel from Hannaford Plaza to Becker’s Farm, stepping off at 5:30 PM.

To ensure the safety of participants and spectators, the East Greenbush Police Department and the Department of Public Works will temporarily close sections of Columbia Turnpike. Please review the closure details below:

📍 Road Closure & Traffic Details
 • 4:30 PM: Pre-parade staging begins within Hannaford Plaza (plan to get your groceries and Starbucks early!).
 • Around 5:00 PM: DPW and EGPD will begin restricting traffic and shutting down Columbia Turnpike from Route 4 to Becker’s Farm.
 • The parade will travel westbound on Columbia Turnpike (toward Rensselaer).
This section will remain barricaded for the duration of the parade and will reopen gradually as the parade progresses.

🚗 Parking & Travel Considerations

Spectators may park at local businesses along the route, but we strongly recommend arriving no later than 5:15 PM.

Please Note: Vehicles parked in the following plazas will not be able to exit until the parade has passed:
 • Town Center Plaza
 • Peter Harris Plaza
 • East Greenbush Bowling Center
 • VanDenHouten Plaza
 • Dunkin’ Donuts area
 • Market 32/Price Chopper Plaza
(Parade duration is approximately 30–45 minutes.)

Residents living:
 • Off Phillips Road are encouraged to use Hays Road during the parade.
 • In Forest Pointe/Rock Rose Drive may enter and exit using the lower Market 32/Price Chopper Plaza roadway.

🚓 Safety Reminders
 • Police Officers and Fire Police will be stationed at intersections along the parade route. Please follow all instructions and posted signage.
 • Large vehicles will be participating—stay out of the roadway and keep children close at all times.

🎅 End of Parade & Fireworks

Once the final vehicle enters Becker’s Farm, the roadway will reopen shortly after spectators clear the area.
Everyone is invited to join us at Becker’s Farm for:
 • A visit with Santa
 • Hot chocolate
 • Enjoying the evening’s festivities

🎆 Fireworks are expected around 7:00 PM.
