Major Injury Collision Investigation
Information:
On Friday, December 5th, 2025, at approximately 6:56 p.m., the Rialto Police Department’s Communication Center was contacted by the California Highway Patrol that their agency was on scene of a collision that had begun within the jurisdiction of the Rialto Police Department. Investigators from the Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded and took over the investigation.
The preliminary investigation revealed Edgar Gonzalez was the sole occupant of a white Ford F-150 northbound on Linden Ave approaching Renaissance Pkwy in the number one lane. As Mr. Gonzalez was in the intersection, he veered to the right across the number two lane and drove onto the northeast corner. Mr. Gonzalez continued driving and collided with a chain-link fence. Mr. Gonzalez continued and drove off the elevated sides of the SR-210. Mr. Gonzalez and the Ford landed in the eastbound HOV lane of the SR-210. A white GMC Arcadia, occupied only by Jeffery Elhami, broadsided the Ford which caused the GMC to overturn and the Ford to enter the westbound lanes of the SR-210. Two additional vehicles were damaged from debris.
Both drivers were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Mr. Elhami was listed in stable condition and Mr. Gonzalez was listed in critical but stable condition. Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to have been a factor in the collision.
