UPDATE: During Search for Weapons, Deputies Locate Ammunition and a Gun Holster; Suspect Booked on Additional Charges

DATE/TIME: Sunday, December 7, 2025, at approximately 3:16 a.m.

INCIDENT: P.C. 273.5(A) - Felony Spousal Abuse

LOCATION: 1900 block of Erin Drive, Needles, CA

SUSPECT(S): Joseph Brown, 32 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA

On Monday, December 8, 2025, at approximately 12:51 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department served a search warrant with the intent to locate the firearm and evidence involved in the above crime.  During the search warrant, deputies located ammunition and a gun holster.  As a result, Brown was additionally charged with PC30305(A)(1)-Felon in Unlawful Possession of  Ammunition.  Brown is a convicted felon and is prohibitied from being in possession of guns and ammunition.

SUMMARY: On Sunday, December 7, 2025, at approximately 12:54 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the 1900 block of Erin Drive reference a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that the suspect, identified as Joseph Brown, had fled the area prior to their arrival. During the investigation, it was reported that Brown assaulted the victim causing injuries to her face, arm and leg. It was also discovered that Brown was armed with a black firearm at the time of the incident.

Deputies attempted to contact Brown at his residence and via phone, but received no response. Brown's juvenile son was found at the home alone and was taken into custody by Child Protective Services.  Deputies authored an arrest warrant for Brown and were able to locate him at his residence a few hours later.  He was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking.
