Wilmington Police have arrested a man on drug charges following an investigation.
Beginning in October, members of the Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division conducted an investigation into 29-year-old Shamir Rice for illegal drug sales. On December 9th at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers conducted a vehicle stop in the 300 block of East 3rd Street and took Rice into custody without incident. Officers recovered 7 grams of crack cocaine and 84 grams of marijuana.
Rice has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was released on $5,500 unsecured bail.
