The public works crew has been hard at work preparing the skating rinks. If the weather continues to cooperate, we should be able to open them soon and enjoy a fantastic skating season.
A few reminders:
- We use a color-coded flag system, with the flag hanging on the west end of the Heiden Haus.
RED means the rinks are closed—please stay off them.
GREEN means the rinks are open.
- New this year: There are lights on the eaves of the Heiden Haus that will match the color of the flag for better visibility.
Please respect the closures. Walking or skating on the rinks when the red flag is up can seriously damage the ice. Holes, snow chunks, and broken ice can create safety hazards and may force us to shut the rinks down.
