Police Seek Help Identifying Package Theft Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help identifying the male suspect pictured below in connection with a package theft that occurred on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
At approximately 2:45 p.m., a package was delivered to a residence in the 100 block of Ellery Street. The victim obtained camera footage from a neighbor that showed a male arriving at the driveway on a bicycle. The suspect got off the bike, walked up the steps to the resident’s door, and removed the package.
The suspect is described as a Black male with a thin build. He was wearing a black bubble jacket, a turquoise hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans, and gray and white sneakers. He was riding a bright blue/turquoise bicycle with hanger handlebars, and an orange plastic bag hanging from the handlebars.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information about the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
