Wilmington Police arrest man in connection to a burglary incident:

Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a burglary incident following an investigation.

On November 6th at approximately 11:44 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 200 block of South Jackson Street, in reference to a burglary incident. The case was assigned to Detective Joran Merced of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Merced identified 43-year-old David Smith as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.

On December 6th police located Smith in the 300 block of North Adams Street, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Smith has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Burglary (Third Degree)
  • Theft $1500 or Greater
  • Conspiracy (Second Degree)
  • Theft Under $1500
  • Criminal Mischief Under $1000
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was released on $5,632 unsecured bail.
