Police Seek Help Locating Newark Man Wanted for Questioning in Shooting Investigation
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. requests the public’s help in locating Aariyan Walker, 23, of Newark, who is wanted for questioning about a shooting that injured two victims on December 6, 2025.
At approximately 4:07 p.m., the ShotSpotter detection system picked up gunfire in the 30 block of N. 5th Street. When Police Officers arrived, they located a victim lying on the floor of a grocery store suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
Officers rendered aid until the victim was taken to University Hospital, where they also responded and located a second gunshot victim from the incident. During the investigation, Officers recovered two 9mm shell casings and a black Nike ski mask.
Walker, a Black male, is 6’2” and 165 pounds with hazel eyes and black hair.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on Walker’s whereabouts to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
