Meridian Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash
MERIDIAN, ID –
At around 11:30 AM on Friday, December 12th Meridian Police responded to a motorcycle versus pickup truck crash in the 5400 block of north Linder Road, near Rocky Mountain High School (RMHS). The initial scene revealed a Kawasaki sport bike style motorcycle driving north on Linder Road and a Jeep Gladiator entering Linder Road collided. The motorcycle rider was seriously injured and life saving measures were performed by Meridian Police, the Meridian Fire Department, and the Ada County Paramedics. They were unfortunately unsuccessful and the rider, a 20-year-old male, was deceased. The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet, and further information regarding their identity will be released by the Ada County Coroner’s Office at a later time. No students from RMHS were directly involved in the crash, and the West Ada School District enacted a plan to reduce traffic congestion during the release of school given the nearby lane blockages from the crash. The Meridian Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash and given the technical nature of these investigations and the importance in maintaining the integrity of the investigation, no further information regarding the causes of the crash will be released at this time.
