El Cerrito Police Department crime blotter from November 23rd to November 29th

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito from November 23rd  to November 29th.     
 
November 23rd  
Stolen Vehicle  – 900 block of Kearney St.
At 6:12 PM, the victim reports their vehicle was stolen. At 3:58 AM, an officer located the victim’s vehicle in the area of San Pablo Avenue and Eureka Avenue.
 
Recovered Stolen Vehicle / Possession of Stolen Property – San Pablo Ave / Moeser Ln.
At 12:51 AM, officers located a stolen vehicle which was occupied by three subjects. The subjects were detained and transported back to the police department. Two of the detained subjects were released from the police department and the third detained subject who was the driver of the vehicle, was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
 
Vandalism – San Pablo Ave. / Eastshore Blvd.
At 2:10 AM, an officer reports the victim was driving home when the suspect threw a glass bottle at the rear window of the victims vehicle, shattering the window. 

November 24th
Driving Under the Influence – Potrero Ave. / Eastshore Blvd.
At 7:46 AM, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for driving under the influence. The suspect was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then cited and released. 

November 25th
Grand Theft / Theft with Priors / Drugs / Drug Paraphernalia / Probation Violation / Warrants – 1000 El Cerrito Plaza (Lucky).
At 8:37 PM, officers responded to a theft from the business.  The suspect was detained at Plaza BART, positively identified and placed under citizen’s arrest.  The subject was in possession narcotics and drug paraphernalia, on probation, several prior theft convictions, and two warrants.  The subject was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting / Obstruction / Drunk in Public / Warrant – 1000 El Cerrito Plaza (Lucky).
At 9:12 PM, officers saw a shoplift at the business occur.  The subject refused to stop for the officers’ commands and once detained, struggled with the officer.  The subject was highly intoxicated and had a warrant for their arrest.  The subject was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Battery / Probation Violation – 11400 block of San Pablo Ave.
At 9:19 PM, officers responded to a battery that just occurred.  The suspect fled on foot and was not located.  At 11:56 PM, officers located a subject that matched the description at San Pablo Ave / Moeser Ln.  The subject was positively identified as the suspect by the victim.  The suspect was also on probation and parole.  The suspect was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

November 26th
Theft by False Pretenses – 1200 Liberty St
At 7:40 AM, Officers report the victim was scammed false pretenses.

Organized Retail Theft – 1000 El Cerrito Plaza (Lucky).
At 7:53 PM, officers responded to a theft from the business.  Two subjects stole items and fled towards Plaza BART.  

Driving Under the Influence / No License – San Pablo Ave / Schmidt Ln.
At 1:41 AM, officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for driving under the influence and no license.  The subject was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and later released on a citation.

November 27th
Burglary – 11465 San Pablo Ave
At 11:12 AM, the victim reports their business was broken into and several items were stolen.

Driving Under the Influence – San Pablo Ave / Portola Dr.
At 1:12 AM, officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for driving under the influence.  The subject was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and later released on a citation.

November 28th
Attempted Burglary – 4010 El Cerrito Plaza (AT&T):
At 8:36 AM, an officer reports an unidentified suspect damaged the front doors and lock while attempting to gain entry to the AT&T Store between 8:00 PM on 11/26 and 8:00 AM on 11/28.  

Warrant Arrest – 11821 San Pablo Ave (McDonald’s):
At 5:15 PM, an officer arrested a suspect on a warrant during a pedestrian stop.  The suspect was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Theft by False Pretense - 3080 El Cerrito Plaza (La Cocina):
At 6:54 PM, an officer reports the victim wired the suspect money under false pretenses.

November 29th
Shoplift- 11555 San Pablo Ave (DD’s Discount):
At 8:27 PM, an officer was flagged down by employees to report a theft. An unknown suspect exited the store with unpaid merchandise.

Driving Under the Influence - San Pablo Ave/Portola Dr:
At 11:04 PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol. During a records check the officer discovered the passenger had an outstanding warrant. Both subjects were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on citations.
