Winter Storm Warning - move cars from snow routes if possible ahead of the storm at 1pm
National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 AM EST SUNDAY...
* Heavy snow expected in Oxford area beginning at 1pm today. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 6 inches.
To help City Street Crews prepare, if you park on a snow route, please move your car ahead of the storm. This allows for plowing of snow back to the curb. When accumulation reaches 3 inches, parking is prohibited on snow routes and vehicles are subject to citation or impound.
...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 11 AM EST MONDAY...
* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 10 to 15 below zero expected.
* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside.
