Please be advised that snow is in the forecast for our area, beginning this evening and continuing into the early hours of Sunday morning. The National Weather Service is projecting snow accumulations of approximately 3–5 inches. Temperatures are expected to fall below freezing by daybreak on Sunday.
The Monroe Township Department of Public Works will begin road salting operations this evening, which will continue through Sunday. To assist with snow removal and road treatment efforts, residents are kindly requested to move all vehicles and garbage receptacles off roadways where possible.
Road conditions are expected to be slippery. Please exercise extreme caution while traveling.
Safety Reminders:
- Ensure all snow and ice are removed from your vehicle prior to driving—particularly from the hood, windows, and roof, as required by New Jersey law.
- Drive cautiously and adjust your speed to accommodate changing road conditions; travel at or below the posted speed limit.
- Always assume downed power lines are live and dangerous.
Residents are also encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel during this weather event.
