SNOW EMERGENCY FOR DOWNTOWN
The City of Yankton has received enough snow that a snow emergency will be going into effect.
A snow emergency will go into effect at 3:00 am on Sunday, December 14, 2025. Please remove vehicles from the Area between Leeve Street and 4th Street and from Lynn Street to Burleigh Street until this snow event has passed and all plowing operations are completed. The City asks for your cooperation to please have your vehicles removed from city streets by this time. Vehicles left on Downtown streets will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.

SIDEWALK SNOW REMOVAL
The Yankton Department of Public Works reminds residents to shovel their sidewalks. Students and other pedestrians rely on these sidewalks for safe passage. City Ordinances require homeowners to remove snow and ice within twenty-four (24) hours after any snowfall.
