DPW crews clearing streets; Residents are reminded to shovel; Menorah lighting tonight
A National Weather Service (NWS) winter weather advisory remains in effect for Hudson County, including Hoboken, until 1 p.m. today. The City's Department of Parks, Recreation & Public Works (DPW) continues to plow roads and remove snow from sidewalks and curb ramps adjacent to City property and City parks. Crews will continue to treat City surfaces as needed.
The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) encourages drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution, as icy and slippery conditions may exist with temperatures anticipated to drop, into the evening hours and tomorrow.
Keep sidewalks and curb ramps clear
Property owners and occupants are reminded that they have six (6) hours after the completion of a storm to remove snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their property, along with adjoining curb ramps or curb cuts. Residents are urged to use caution when shoveling and to assist elderly or disabled neighbors with clearing snow from their properties. It is illegal to shovel snow back onto streets or onto fire hydrants.
