1. Robbery Arrest (1542) 1000 Block of Performance Drive, Park District
The male victim, 72, was giving the known suspect a ride in his vehicle when she became upset. The suspect vandalized the vehicle, battered the victim, and took his property. Officers later located the suspect and arrested her without incident. ARRESTED: Aiyana Mendoza, 22, for robbery, vandalism, and elder abuse.
2. Robbery (1702) 4900 Block of Pacific Avenue, Lakeview District
The male victim, 13, was walking in the listed area when the suspects chased him, pushed him against a fence, and took property from him. The suspects fled on foot. The victim was uninjured. SUSPECTS: A Black male juvenile and a Hispanic male juvenile.
3. Pursuit Arrest (0003) 1600 Block of North Filbert Street, Park District
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle in the listed area. The driver failed to yield and led officers on a short pursuit, which ended when the driver pulled over. One passenger fled on foot, and the driver was arrested without incident. Officers located the fleeing passenger during a search, and he surrendered to officers. ARRESTED: Emmanuel Lopez, 33, for evading, and Jordan Lugo, 28, for resisting arrest.
4. Armed Robbery Attempt (0017) 7900 Block of Diana Marie Drive, Valley Oak District
The male victim, 50, was in the listed area when the known suspect approached, brandished a firearm, and demanded the victim’s money. When the victim did not comply, the suspect struck him with the firearm. The victim was uninjured. SUSPECT: A Hispanic male adult.
5. Homicide (0122) 300 Block of South Wilson Way, Park District
Officers responded to the listed area on a report of a person shot, and located a male victim, 24, and a female victim, 28, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to an area hospital, where the male succumbed to his injuries. The female victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening. Detectives responded and assumed the investigation.
6. Armed Robbery (0400) 800 Block of West Charter Way, Seaport District
The female victim, 22, was in the listed area when she got into a vehicle with the suspects, who brandished weapons and stole her property. SUSPECTS: Three Hispanic male adults.
