Air Tag Alerts Owners to Location of Stolen Property; Deputies Arrest Hesperia Man for Grand Theft

LOCATION: In-N-Out, 13074 Main Street, Hesperia
SUSPECT(S): Abraham Sotelo, 34-year-old male, Resident of Hesperia
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On December 9, 2025, at 8:30 p.m., the victims were dining at In-N-Out Burger in Hesperia. After leaving the restaurant, the victim’s realized their 11-year-old daughter left her purse hanging on a chair.
An AirTag, that was placed in the purse, was used to track it to the 17900 block of Juniper Court, Hesperia. On December 10, 2025, the victim’s family requested deputy assistance to retrieve the purse without seeking prosecution; however, the suspect was uncooperative.
Deputy Prince reviewed surveillance video from the restaurant, which showed the suspect locating the purse and concealing it under his jacket. The suspect was later observed placing the purse into his vehicle. Through an investigation, Deputy Prince identified the suspect, Abraham Sotelo.
On December 12, 2025, Deputy Prince authored a search warrant for the Sotelos’ residence. Deputy Prince, with assistance from Deputies from the Hesperia Station, served the warrant and recovered stolen property valued at over $950. Abraham Sotelo was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center.
