This is a reminder that as of January 1, 2026, SOLID WASTE MUST BE PLACED IN CONTAINERS THAT ARE 32 GALLONS OR LESS IN SIZE. Violations will be issued for non-compliance.
- Each container must not exceed 50 pounds when full.
- Do not leave out loose garbage bags – it is unsanitary and attracts unwanted pests.
WHY? Limiting the size and weight of waste receptacles reduces the risk of injury to our DPW workers and enhances operational efficiency. You may still use the larger receptacles for recycling goods as long as it does not exceed 50 pounds.
