Media Release: Moorpark Police Department - Coffee with a Cop

Nature of Incident: Moorpark Police Department - Coffee with a Cop

Location: Starbucks in Target - 800 New Los Angeles Ave, Moorpark, CA
Date & Time: Tuesday, December 23rd - 10:00am-11:00am
Unit(s) Responsible: Moorpark Police Department

Narrative:
The Moorpark Police Department is proud to announce another “Coffee with a Cop” event.  Coffee with a Cop brings the police department and community members together, over coffee, to discuss issues and learn more about resources, services, and needs of the community.

On Tuesday, December 23rd, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Moorpark Chief of Police Nick Odenath, along with deputies from the Moorpark Police Station, will be at the Starbucks in Target (located at 800 New Los Angeles Ave, Moorpark, CA) sharing a cup of coffee with neighbors.

Community trust is one of the key elements to the success of the Moorpark Police Department. By sitting down and having a conversation, deputies and the community members they serve can continue building and growing together.

The Moorpark Police Department invites the community members to come out and ask questions, voice concerns, get crime prevention advice, and get to know the deputies in your neighborhood. This is a relaxed, informal event and not about speeches or agendas. Moorpark Police Department staff will also have handouts explaining our Volunteer in Policing program and our Explorer program, as well as scam and fraud prevention.  For our Spanish-speaking community members, we will have Spanish-speaking deputies at the event.

The goal of Coffee with a Cop is to help build community.  We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday.

Building relationships – one cup at a time.
