On December 16, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Rialto Police Department received information from a local news outlet regarding an incident that occurred in the 200 block of West Foothill Boulevard. The Department was also notified about a video that was circulating on social media platforms. The video depicted an unknown male subject being struck by the right-side mirror of a Black, Ford pickup truck.
Upon receiving this information, officers began an investigation into the incident, including reviewing video that appears to show the driver of the pickup truck colliding with the unidentified male. The male was running away from the pickup truck. Following the incident, the male appears to be apprehended by several law enforcement officers. It is unknown if the male was injured during the incident, or which law enforcement agency was involved. The Department has determined the incident occurred at approximately 11:50 a.m., on December 16, 2025.
The Rialto Police Department did not receive prior notification of this incident, was not notified afterward, and was not involved in the incident at any time. The investigation remains on-going.
Police Chief Mark Kling said, “We will continue our attempts in locating the driver of the black pickup truck.
As a law enforcement agency, we are committed to upholding the laws of California. We understand that many in our community have concerns about immigration practices as they relate to law enforcement. I want to assure our community that our primary duty is to protect all residents and businesses, regardless of immigration status. If someone is a victim of a crime, their legal status does not affect our response. We are here to help. We do not ask about immigration status or require proof of citizenship to file a report or initiate an investigation. Our focus is on ensuring safety and justice for everyone in our community.” Chief Kling also said, “In California, SB 54 puts strict limits on when law enforcement agencies can cooperate or share information with ICE, barring such cooperation in most instances.”
