...A BAND OF ORGANIZED SHOWERS WILL SPREAD SNOW INTO SOUTHERN PANHANDLE... .Showers formed by the cold air streaming into the gulf of Alaska will rotate into the southern panhandle this afternoon and evening.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches.

* WHERE...Ketchikan Gateway Borough.

* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to 3 PM AKST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Expect that more of the precipitation will transition to snow early Thursday morning. Localized amounts may be higher than expected due to training showers, particularly on South Tongass.

* AFFECTED AREAS: KETCHIKAN GATEWAY BOROUGH
