SUMMARY:
On Thursday, November 6, 2025, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Morongo Basin Station, responded to a reported traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
According to preliminary information, an elderly female was struck by a vehicle while crossing the roadway on her motorized mobility scooter at the intersection of Primrose Drive and Airway Avenue in the Town of Yucca Valley. Immediately following the collision, the motorist failed to stop, render aid, or call for emergency services. The vehicle fled the scene traveling westbound on Yucca Trail from Airway Avenue.
Deputies arrived promptly and rendered lifesaving measures to the female until medical personnel arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment; however, she later succumbed to her injuries as a result of the collision. Following the incident, deputies from the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) initiated an investigation into the fatal hit-and-run. Investigators are requesting the public’s assistance in locating the suspect and the suspect vehicle.
Surveillance video captured the suspect vehicle fleeing the scene promptly after the collision. The vehicle is described as a beige, tan, or gold-colored Toyota Corolla. Photographs of the suspect vehicle are attached and a video of the suspect vehicle can be seen here: https://youtu.be/MeJlJ_BrwrE
