On Monday, December 15, 2025 at 6:01 p.m., officers from the Santa Clara Police Department arrested Kevin Alexander Alvareztostadorizo for Homicide and Reckless Driving.
“The safety of everyone who lives, works, and travels in Santa Clara depends on people driving with care and good judgment. When that standard is abandoned and a life is taken through reckless or dangerous driving, we will not hesitate to pursue the most serious charges the facts support. The Santa Clara Police Department is committed to pursuing these investigations relentlessly and working with the District Attorney’s Office to ensure that those responsible are held fully accountable for the harm they cause”, said Santa Clara Police Chief Cory Morgan.
This arrest stems from a fatal traffic collision that occurred December 10, 2024, at approximately 12:20 p.m. Santa Clara Police Department (SCPD) officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision with injuries on Stevens Creek Blvd and Tyler Street. When first responders arrived, they located a male subject who was believed to be the driver of an SUV, on the ground. They also located a female in the passenger seat of the SUV. The other involved vehicle was a pickup truck with two male occupants.
Santa Clara Fire Department (SCFD) personnel provided first aid and performed life-saving measures on the male and female of the SUV. Both were transported to a local hospital, but tragically the male succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Based on the preliminary investigation, it appeared the driver of the pickup was traveling west on westbound Stevens Creek Blvd. approaching Tyler St. at a high rate of speed. The pickup collided with the SUV (occupied by the male and female) which was making a left turn from eastbound Stevens Creek Blvd into a driveway. SCPD Traffic Investigators began a comprehensive investigation into the incident and determined the Suspect was traveling at speed that was both excessive and reckless for the roadway and conditions. Investigators worked with the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office and obtained an arrest warrant for the Suspect.
Alvareztostadorizo was booked into Santa Clara County Jail.
