The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook as incoming weather is forecasted to impact our area late tonight into tomorrow. At present, the main concern is strong gusty winds. Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor items, including decorations.
If you lose power, notice must be given directly to ConEdison. You may report and monitor power outages through their mobile app, online, or by phone 1-800-752-6633. If you see downed electrical wires, do not go near them. Assume all downed wires are electrified. Report any downed wires to ConEdison.
There is the potential to see some drainage impacts depending on the rate of rainfall paired with the timing of high tide. Our DPW crews cleared our storm drains and picked up leaves throughout the day today in preparation for this weather event, and all departments are monitoring the situation. Our DPW crews will be working tomorrow as well and will continue to clear the drains.
