The National Weather Service issued a warning for River flooding fin Tillamook County

Tillamook County Emergency Management: The National Weather Service issued a warning for River flooding for The Nehalem River is in minor flood stage. Wilson River is in moderate flood stage. Trask River is in minor flood stage. River continues to raise,. 12/18/25 - 12/19/25.

The Nehalem River is in minor flood stage. Wilson River is in moderate flood stage. Trask River is in minor flood stage. River continues to raise. Prepare for flooding in the areas around the rivers. Do not drive throw standing water.. .

Check on friends, family, and neighbors to make sure they are safe. Offer help if you can provide it. Ask for help if you need it. Call 9-1-1 if someone is experiencing a medical emergency. 

Get Prepared:

What will you do if the power goes out? Where will you go if you can’t stay warm? What if roads are unsafe to drive on? Can you help others get prepared?

Stay Safe Outdoors:

  • Dress in layers and keep your head, hands, feet, and ears warm.  
  • Stay dry. Change out of wet clothing. Don’t sit on wet, cold ground.
  • Don’t stay outdoors for long periods. Move slowly to prevent sweating, slips, and falls.
  • Seek medical help if someone is experiencing frostbite or hypothermia.
  • Be aware of outdoor hazards such as downed power lines, falling tree branches, and ice.
  • Pets may become injured or die if left outside during extreme cold. Bring pets indoors.

Stay Safe Indoors:

  • Prevent fires. Heat your home safely.
  • Keep three feet of space between heat sources and other objects.
  • Plug heaters directly into the wall outlet. Avoid plugging into power strips or extension cords.
  • Don’t leave portable heaters unattended.
  • Prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Avoid using barbeques, camp stoves, cooktops, ovens, or generators inside homes, trailers, and other enclosed spaces.

  • Before you leave, check road conditions on TripCheck.com or call 5-1-1.
  • Keep an in your vehicle. Follow Oregon chain and traction device laws.
  • Stay on major roads. Avoid traveling at night. Drive slowly!
  • Do not travel alone. Let someone know your schedule and destination.
  • If stranded, it's safest to stay with your vehicle. Follow safety tips from weather.gov/safety/winter
