Detective Aaron Vallini with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Sammy Dalson Burleson, 23, of Marion, with felony (two counts) Injuring Utility Wires and Fixtures. He was issued a secured bond of $500,000.
On December 1, Deputy Jack Gouge spoke with a Frontier employee about missing communication wire (100 ft.) that had been removed near a local elementary school.
On December 8, Deputy Gouge was checking the parameters of the same school and noticed that communication wire had again been removed from the same location. After speaking with a Frontier employee, it was determined that 250 ft. of cable had been removed.
An investigation by detectives determined that Burleson was responsible for both thefts.
